Endocrinology

Endocrinology is the branch of medicine that studies the endocrine system and includes the diagnosis and treatment of diseases related to hormonal disorders and endocrine gland dysfunction.

  • CT scan: imaging for endocrine gland details and evaluation of possible abnormalities
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI): visualization of highly detailed images of endocrine glands, especially in suspected neoplasms
  • Ultrasound-guided fine-needle thyroid aspiration: minimally invasive diagnostic method that allows extraction of cell samples from the nodule for cytological examination to exclude or confirm the presence of a neoplasm
