The orthopedic clinic is the specialized department where orthopedic patients are examined for pre-treatment diagnoses and post-treatment check-ups.
The specialist performs:
- Examination with assessment of the musculoskeletal system functionality, posture, muscle strength, and range of motion
- Diagnosis of disorders resulting from post-traumatic conditions, acute or chronic pathologies, and/or degenerative diseases
- Diagnostic tests, requested when necessary, to complete the diagnosis (X-rays, ultrasounds, CT or MRI scans)
- Identification of personalized treatment based on the patient's characteristics and the identified pathology, which may include conservative therapies (medications, physiotherapy) or surgical treatments (arthroscopy, prosthetics)
SYMPTOMS
Patients with symptoms related to musculoskeletal system disorders, which include bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, and tendons, are subject to examination:
- Acute or chronic pain
- Swelling, bruising, warmth, or redness
- Stiffness (especially in the morning)
- Movement limitations
- Visible joint deformities
- Crepitus during movement
- Muscle weakness
- Radiating pain
- Difficulty performing daily physical activities
- Injuries from falls or sports accidents causing pain, swelling, or movement difficulties
- Post-traumatic conditions
- Feeling of instability while walking or in the affected joint

- X-ray (RX) (to identify fractures, bone issues, osteoarthritis, or deformities)
- Musculoskeletal ultrasound (to analyze superficial structures like tendons, muscles, and bursae to diagnose inflammations or injuries)
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) (to analyze soft tissues like ligaments, tendons, cartilage, and menisci)
- Computed Tomography (CT) (to obtain highly detailed bone images indicated for identifying displaced fractures or bone anomalies)
