INDICATION

This technique is indicated for young and athletic patients, but can also valid for older people. The surgery can also have a preventive function to prevent the advancement of the arthritic state.

Hip arthroscopy is indicated to treat conditions such as:
  1. Two or three small incisions (about 5 mm) are made in the skin tissue in the hip area

  2. An arthroscope connected to a monitor is introduced through one of the incisions

  3. The arthroscope’s camera sends images of the joint to the monitor, allowing the surgeon visual exploration of the hip

  4. Through the other incisions, specific surgical instruments are inserted to treat the pathology encountered

With the arthroscopic technique, the surgery is burdened with less invasiveness than traditional surgery while also causing less trauma to the joint.

In addition, the postoperative recovery period is generally shorter and less painful, and the complication rate is reduced.
