Professor Rodolfo Capanna is an expert in Orthopedics and Traumatology, Biomedical Technologies, and Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Therapy. He has enhanced his training through various courses at prominent international centers such as the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, the University of Florida, and Harvard Medical School in Boston, to name a few.
He is currently the Director of the Orthopedic Oncology and Reconstructive Surgery Unit and Head of the Musculoskeletal Transplant Bank at the Cisanello Hospital in Pisa. Professor Capanna is also a founding member of the European Association of Musculo Skeletal Transplantation and the International Society of Bone Metastases, in addition to holding three patents in the orthopedic field (modular resection prosthesis for the humerus, modular resection prosthesis produced by Striker-Howmedica, and modular resection prosthesis for the lower limbs with dual-use capability).
