Currently, the team coordinated by Prof. Mario Dauri at Villa Stuart Medical Center manages Anesthesia, Acute Post-operative Pain Service, and Post-operative Intensive Care using Anesthesia and Analgesia techniques that are considered today’s Gold Standard in orthopedic patient treatment, with 24/7 availability of Anesthesiologist medical staff for Emergencies and Intensive Care.
All patients undergoing surgery with high post-operative pain impact, such as skeletal trauma, capsular-ligamentous reconstructions, both “open” and arthroscopic, are treated with continuous peripheral nerve blocks that ensure, in the vast majority of cases, excellent intraoperative comfort and satisfactory post-operative analgesia, with high safety and minimal incidence of side effects.
This is achieved through the use of sophisticated infusion systems (Patient Control Infusion Pumps) that allow patients to self-manage pain with absolute safety. The constant and systematic monitoring of results and the continuous pursuit of technique optimization and updates has led over the years to the achievement of excellence in both clinical and scientific aspects.
