Prof. Herbert Valensise graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1980 from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome and became a Specialist in Gynecology and Obstetrics at the same university in 1984.
In 1988, he obtained a PhD in Prenatal Medicine and Congenital Metabolic Pathophysiology from the University of Verona.
In 1991, he became a Researcher in Gynecology and Obstetrics at the University of Ancona and since 1992 at the University of Tor Vergata in Rome.
In 2002, he became an Associate Professor in Gynecology and Obstetrics at the University of Tor Vergata in Rome.
In 2012, he was Head of the Simple Operational Unit (UOS) of Obstetric Pathology at the Fatebenefratelli Hospital in Rome, Isola Tiberina.
At the University of Tor Vergata in Rome, he has been a Full Professor of Gynecology and Obstetrics since 2019, Director and Lecturer of the School of Specialization in Gynecology and Obstetrics since 2019, and Director of the Degree Course in Midwifery since 2018.
Since 2016, he has been Head of the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Casilino Polyclinic Hospital.
