Prof. Carlo Alberto Benech graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Turin in 2003, later specializing in Modena. He continued his training at Cornell University in New York, the International Neuroscience Institute in Hannover, the University Hospital of Helsinki, and Saint Louis University.
He received the Young Tumor Investigator Award, granted by the American Brain Tumor Association in 2005 in New Orleans. In 2009, he returned to Italy, working in Turin, Milan, and Rome. In 2018, he introduced the Excelsius GPS robot for spinal neurosurgery in Italy, equipped with a robotic arm and GPS navigation.
He has performed over 5,000 surgical procedures as the lead surgeon and 1,000 operations with robotic-assisted technology.
