Prof. Alessandro Castagna, born in Parma in 1954, graduated in Medicine and Surgery from “La Sapienza” University in Rome. In 1988 he obtained his specialization in Orthopedics and Traumatology from the University of Milan and in 1993 in Sports Medicine from the University of Brescia. He currently performs clinical and surgical activities focused on shoulder pathologies, with particular interest in arthroscopic and open techniques applied to this field.
He plays an active role in national and international scientific societies, such as the European Society of Shoulder and Elbow and the Italian Society of Shoulder and Elbow, where he holds institutional positions.
His scientific activity includes more than 60 publications in national and international journals and contributions to monographic works.
He is a member of the Medical Commission of the Italian Winter Sports Federation and the Medical Commission of the Italian Tennis Federation.
