Dr. Maurizio Tarquini has been a specialist gastroenterologist since 1982. From the same year, he has been a volunteer assistant at the Gastroenterology Department of San Filippo Neri Hospital in Rome. In 1991, he took on the role of full-time Assistant and then, after three years, became a first-level manager in the Gastroenterology Operating Unit. He has always carried out his activities at the same facility where, in addition to clinical work, he has mainly focused on colonoscopy and esophagogastroduodenoscopy, both diagnostic and operative, performing hemorrhagic emergencies and endoscopic resection of polyps and superficial neoplastic lesions of the colon, stomach, esophagus, and duodenum.
