Dr. Massimo Massarella

Specialist in Orthopedics and Traumatology

Dr. Massimo Massarella was born in Oristano on April 15, 1956.

On July 18, 1980, he graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” with a grade of 110/110 summa cum laude.
On November 24, 1986, at the same university, he obtained his specialization in General Surgery, and on November 10, 1993, he specialized in Orthopedics and Traumatology at the University of Perugia.

Starting from the academic year 2000-2001, he has held a contract teaching position in the School of Specialization in Orthopedics and Traumatology at the University of Perugia for the subjects “Occupational Traumatology” and “Wrist Arthroscopy”. This position is still ongoing.

Dr. Massarella is a tutor for students in the Specialization Course in “Orthopedics and Traumatology for Wrist and Hand Surgery” and “Wrist Arthroscopy”. He is currently an active member of the Italian Society of Hand Surgery, a member of the European Society (EWAS), and an instructor at the IRCAD Institute in Strasbourg for EWAS cadaver lab courses.
He has acquired all required ECM credits, including those from educational events organized at his own hospital.

He is currently a member of the “International Society for Sport Traumatology of the Hand” (ISSPORTH) and a member of the “ASSH” (American Society for Surgery of the Hand).

In the last 10 years, he has participated as an instructor in 24 advanced courses, conferences, and international congresses on hand and wrist surgery and in 31 courses in Italy.

His scientific production includes numerous publications, texts, contributions, and original works published in specialized journals and volumes.
