Dr. Maria Lia Scribano graduated in 1985 with a degree in Medicine and Surgery from “La Sapienza” University of Rome with a grade of 110 cum laude and in 1989 specialized in Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy at the same University with a grade of 70 cum laude.
She has completed several advanced courses in Gastroenterology, both in Italy and abroad.
She works at the UOC Gastroenterology and Diagnostic and Operative Digestive Endoscopy unit of the A.O. “S. Camillo-Forlanini” Hospital in Rome.
For over 30 years, she has been primarily dedicated to clinical activity and clinical research with the ability to treat patients not only with traditional therapies but also with the most innovative ones (before they become available within the national health system), particularly for certain gastroenterological conditions such as Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome, diverticular disease of the colon, etc.

Italian Association of Hospital Gastroenterologists (AIGO), Italian Group for the study of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IG-IBD), European Crohn’s and Colitis Organization (ECCO), Italian Society of GastroRheumatology (SIGR).
