Dr. Francesca Picconi, Specialist in Digestive System Surgery and Digestive Endoscopy, holds the position of head of the Digestive Endoscopy Service at Aurelia Hospital, where she performs diagnostic and operative endoscopic examinations as the primary operator and provides daytime on-call availability for the first-level Emergency Department. Through her professionalism, she aims to bring patients closer to early diagnosis and prevention of digestive system diseases.
The Doctor has extensive experience in Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy with autonomy in performing diagnostic and operative examinations of the upper digestive tract (EGD, radial Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), PEG, PEG-J, stenting, nasogastric tube placement, polypectomies, variceal ligation, intragastric balloon placement for obesity, achalasia treatment, OVESCO placement), and lower digestive tract (stenting, EMR, dilation of iatrogenic strictures, OVESCO placement).
She performs approximately 1,500 endoscopic examinations per year.
