On June 4, Giorgio Scalvini, defender for Atalanta and the Italian national team, underwent surgery at the Villa Stuart Clinic in Rome.
The footballer had suffered a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during the match against Fiorentina played on June 2.
The arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction surgery, performed by Professor Pier Paolo Mariani, was a complete success. Scalvini immediately began his recovery and rehabilitation process.
