CAUSES AND SYMPTOMS
Knee pathologies in the elderly are typically related to arthrotic degenerative phenomena. This condition does not allow proper ambulation given the presence of pain, repeated effusions, and functional limitations with stiffness.
TREATMENT
If, during the orthopedic examination, a disorder affecting the pelvic anatomical region is detected, intervention can be made using conservative or invasive/surgical techniques.

Prosthetic surgery:
total or partial joint replacement, allowing the patient to greatly reduce pain symptoms with improvement and, where possible, restoration of joint function. -
Arthroscopy:
minimally invasive technique that involves visualizing the knee joint from the inside and allows treatment of the most common joint pathologies including ligament reconstructions and treatment of meniscal and cartilage pathology.
